cotter pin installed in drill to lap valves212 viewshere I used a cut-off cotter pin (cause its harder than plain old wire) installed in the chuck of my variable speed drill to lap the valves. worked suprisingly well. I did all the valves this way.hschwartz3Aug 17, 2008

valve lapping tools, no good211 viewsAfter the suction cup tool (top) didn't work, I tried super gluing a cut off pencil to the valve but it kept popping off. Mildly successful,I believe this would work with a larger dow rod. ( tip - make sure end glued to valve is cut square or it'l wobbles as you widdle. Next I tried my cir-clip pliers keyed in the small dimples on top of the valve. This was hard to put pressure and turn but soewhat succesful. It led to my biggest break through.hschwartz3Aug 17, 2008

Close-up of #2 cylinder valves252 viewsI have a LED flashlight held up to the exhaust manifold port and can see lght all around the exhaust valve in the closed position. I turned the light off in the garage to get a picture of this, but the camera flash foiled that idea.hschwartz3Aug 17, 2008

Top of engine208 viewsNeeds a good cleaning, but all appears to be okay. a couple of the collant passages are totally blocked. I was surprised to see that. I flushed the the motor pretty good when I first brought it home. I've never had cooling issue with this tractor. hschwartz3Aug 14, 2008

Numbered Wires/ plugs110 viewsPlugs wires were numbered to make sure they got put back correctly. I numbered them on the bottom side so when installed the numbers are not easily seen.
The plugs were numbered to help track cylinder condition.hschwartz3Aug 14, 2008
