Oooops!48 viewsYou can see the peak where the shingles were repaired a couple years ago. The winds get so bad, that it rips the shingles right off and they are all glued down with ashphalt based mastic. The last open section of ladder will be about 13 " wider than the primary ladders, which are standard 16" wide. This will be a bit easier to finish the roof, and a lot faster. With the use of support legs, it will be as strong as building a partial gable end wall.Rudi

Oooopps.. forgot a Hole73 viewsThis is the last section of roof that needs to be built. The last 32 square feet that needs to be finished. You can see the truss extensions under the strapping. The sheathing is Douglas Fir 1/2" 4'x10' sign faces. I like recycling a lot.Rudi

East Gable End38 viewsLooking up, you can see the legs of the finished section of soffit ladders. All done on this side, except for that last section of roof that needs to be built.Rudi

Inside the Pole Barn48 viewsEllie looks a bit forlorn, but she is a bit happier than she was sitting outside in the snow.Rudi

Inside a Cold Barn41 viewsThis is a look at the eastern side of the pole barn. you can see the trusses sitting on the old roof and the last open section that needs to be closed up.Rudi

Inside A Snowy Barn126 viewsThis is looking to the west gable. Got a couple tarps on to keep the snow from the coming storm out, whilst I build the gable wall. It is a bit chilly with all the snow, but hopefully once closed it, snow shovelled out, it will get a bit warmer.Rudi

Ellie in the new Cub House53 viewsA little bit of snow inside the new barn. You can tell how much snow is there by looking at the 1600 litre tank on the right. It will take some time to dig that all out and get everything in.Rudi
|
|
Family is Inside50 viewsMostly covered still, but almost all of my tractors aside from my CC-129 and the Co-Op Turf Trac are all in their new home. As you can see there is still a bit of sunshine coming through the east gable, but that is the only hole left. Soon as we get some decent weather to work and Alde comes over, we will get that plugged as well. 97% weathertight now.Rudi

Granny ?46 viewsShe looks kinda small from 20 feet up... but kinda cute right next to Spook's house.Rudi

|
Getting Dark49 viewsIt was a cold cold day.. clear but cold. -8 C but with the wind chill felt like -20. Good thing I don't have to stand outside watching the Santa Claus Parade downtown.. I get to play in a nice warm shop tonight making the ladders.Rudi

Don't Hit the Shop Dummy!44 viewsI have to get as close as I can to the shop without digging up the rubber barrier or hitting the building. I was able to get within a couple inches on a couple passes. This one was close enough grading. I did get closer the day before when compacting.Rudi

No Snow Makes it Easier45 viewsThe wx has been weird. Last weekend we had a foot of snow by end of Sunday. Tuesday we had warmer weather. Wednesday we had another Nor'easter -- 100 mm's of rain... Yesterday when this pic was taken it was -7C or so with a wind chill as well.Rudi

Looks Easy Right?47 viewsNope, not so easy.. This is something that takes a lot of getting used to. Especially when you prefer an IH/Dresser TD-7/8 and are using a Cat D2C. Completely different animal.Rudi

Cutting the Driveway72 viewsA couple years ago another company that did some work here ruined the driveway. So they had to fix it. Their operator lifted the driveway too high.. oh about 6 inches and the driveway became higher than the concrete floor of the shop. Oooops.... that means water problems....Rudi
