Oooopps.. forgot a Hole73 viewsThis is the last section of roof that needs to be built. The last 32 square feet that needs to be finished. You can see the truss extensions under the strapping. The sheathing is Douglas Fir 1/2" 4'x10' sign faces. I like recycling a lot.Rudi

North Wall43 viewsThis is the coldest wall, and also the wall with the most moisture damage from snow buildup and rain shedding onto the bottom of the wall. That is all being addressed by the 45 mil and thicker rubber dams that I am placing around the building. This will be a standard procedure now on all of my exterior structures.Rudi

No Snow Makes it Easier45 viewsThe wx has been weird. Last weekend we had a foot of snow by end of Sunday. Tuesday we had warmer weather. Wednesday we had another Nor'easter -- 100 mm's of rain... Yesterday when this pic was taken it was -7C or so with a wind chill as well.Rudi

New Pine Clad Doors44 viewsNew doors, 1-1/2" rigid foam insulation in a 2" x 2" frame. 27" x 27" thermopane was supposed to go in, but all 3 recycled windows cracked. New 1/8" glass will have to do. $50.00 for 2 panes.. ouch!Rudi

New Framing for Doors are going in50 viewsLooked right, felt right but had to be redone. The shop has undergone some major upheavals and the corner isn't exactly square like it once was. At least now the rough opening is square and the wall insert is square... the fillers.. oh well.Rudi
New Doors on the Shop43 viewsNow that the snow is gone a bit, we took the tarp off to finish sheathing around the doors. This is just before we put the tarp back on. The doors need to be stained or finished clear.Rudi

Looks Easy Right?47 viewsNope, not so easy.. This is something that takes a lot of getting used to. Especially when you prefer an IH/Dresser TD-7/8 and are using a Cat D2C. Completely different animal.Rudi

Looking south45 viewsThis is my road that we have been building for the last 8 years. An interesting view from the peak of the pole barn.Rudi

Just Before Coffee Break40 viewsManaged to get the rest of the trusses in place except for the last two. Ran out of pre-cut 22-1/2" Header Blocks. Go to Timmy's get warm, cut the last two and poof we will have em all up!
Not too shabby considering we started this afternoon at about 1345hrs or 1:45 PM.Rudi

Just About Done in time for Coffee.42 viewsWe started about 1:45PM and making good progress. Had to put a temp foot on the roof, but now all the trusses are level and just about finished. All that will be left will be adjusting for spacing as we go up the roof with the strapping before the sheathing goes on.Rudi

Installing The First Few Rows Of Strapping39 viewsAlde is nailing up the first row of strapping onto the trusses. And yes he is my neighbour and for those of you who were at the original CubFest Northeast back in 2004, Alde was there with his son Gerry. Alde owns my Father-in-laws God-Father's 56 Cub that Jethro was a donor for.Rudi
